Join Frank de la Cruz, for this special workshop on beginning and maintaining a Physical Recovery after Bariatric Surgery. Frank, who underwent a Sleeve Gastrectomy in December, 2010, credits an important part of his 240+ lb weight loss to the implementation of a consistent Yoga practice. Frank is currently a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and has over 400 hrs of Yoga teaching experience. In this two hour workshop, you will learn the importance of Yoga to any exercise regimen, how yogic philosophy and meditation help curb hunger and avoid the many pitfalls of post-surgery thinking, and some fundamental breathing and movement techniques in a very gentle series of postures. Bring: water, comfortable clothes and an open mind.

Course Description:
This module will address the philosophical, methodological, and physiological foundations of prenatal yoga: including safe sequencing {vinyasa krama},laying the foundation for a prenatal practice throughout the trimesters, & how to apply the 8 limbs of Classical Yoga to pregnancy. At the end of the module trainees will be adept at teaching, practicing, adjusting, and modifying the first trimester prenatal yoga postures and will feel confident incorporating pregnant women in an all-levels yoga class. Pregnant women, childbirth educators, yoga teachers, and other birth professionals are welcome to attend, as this course will provide you with a solid foundation on which to share or build a prenatal yoga practice and a mindful pregnancy.
