Sonic Asana & Meditation Journey with Dj HiFy and Tymi

Sunday, February 26th /4:00pm
DJ HyFi will be taking us on a journey across a sonic landscape of groovin’ beats and lush atmospherics. The journey starts with an  hour and a half of Vinyasa Flow led by Tymi Howard to live DJ mixing and flows into a 30 min sonic meditation led by Ian Hyman.

In the meditative portion of the workshop, DJ HyFi will be layering and mixing ambient sounds to create a smooth soundscape that will transport you to another dimension, just relax and let the river carry you along… *(don’t forget to tip your DJ on the way out)

Yin Yoga with Tymi Saturday March 17th, 2012 – 2:00pm

ENRICH YOUR PRACTICE WITH YIN YOGA! Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect compliment to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. While initially this style of yoga can seem quite boring, passive, or soft, yin practice can be quite challenging due to the long duration of the poses. We can remain in the postures anywhere from one to twenty minutes! Yin and yang tissues respond quite differently to being exercised. You need to experience this to really know what Yin Yoga is all about. After you have experienced it, even just once, you will realize that you have been doing only half of the asana practice.

Guruv Yoga’s 200 hour certification program in Hatha Yoga will qualify and fulfill requirements for the candidate to register with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 Level. Guruv Yoga’s 200 hour Comprehensive Yoga Teacher Training Program will cover the practical, theoretical, historical, and spiritual aspects of the science of Hatha Yoga. The program requires considerable energy, time, dedication, and commitment. The student will leave with a thorough education and how to teach Hatha Yoga, the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, Hot Yoga and Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga. The candidate must have a dedicated personal practice, heightened awareness, and an abundance of inspiration and passion, that will fully prepare them to share the gift of yoga. Class size is limited.
