I just received lab results from my doctor and I am so pleased! My glucose test has been rising into the pre-diabetes range, but this time I'd dropped back to normal--no medication. My triglycerides and total cholesterol dropped further into the normal range. And my thyroid continues to improve, so all those shoulder stands and other inversions really are helping. (I'm hopeful that I may be able to decrease the meds for cholesterol and thyroid next time.) Last but not least, I've lost 3 lbs. Truly the credit goes to yoga; I am probably also eating a little healthier and walking more, but it's yoga that sets me in that direction. I should add that I am 60 and had never done yoga until I came to your studio 15 months ago. Thanks to you and all the great instructors at GuruvYoga.

Tymi, I have to share some good news with you I had a bone density test done today and the tech wanted to know what I had been doing to improve my bone mass, also measured an inch higher than last year. Replied immediately, Yoga at Guruv Yoga. I'm ready for that second class a week!

Runners unite! Yoga really works, and no one does it better then the folks at Guruv. I started practicing yoga earlier in the year to see what effect it would have on my running, and in the last two months I’ve had PR’s in the marathon, half marathon, and 5K, the last one being a total shocker since I haven’t been training for that distance. Yoga benefits all runners because it stretches the muscles that have become contracted over time, though the muscles impacted can vary for each runner. For me, it gave me extra flexibility in my hip flexors, allowing for a slightly longer stride. The mental benefits are there, too; you’ll get better at dealing with the discomfort that comes late in a difficult run, when the heart says ‘go, go’ but the body says ‘no, no’. I picked Guruv for a number of reasons, foremost of which is that the people who work there are, quite simply, really good people, and they have an interest in you and your journey towards a better life through yoga. It sure worked for me; it can work for you, too.

Here are some comments about Guruv Yoga that were posted to its WESH.COM "A-List" profile:
"I have been extremely athletic my entire life, and was always looking for a new challenge that will peak my interest, provide the physical demand I craved, as well as the stress release I needed. Yoga presented itself to me several years ago, and I am extremely fortunate to have been able to take Tymi's Vinyasa Flow Classes for over three years now. Yoga's benefits to the mind, body and soul are immeasurable. I would follow Tymi to the moon if that is where she decided to teach her next class, thankfully Tymi has decided to open her own studio "Guruv Yoga" right here in Lake Mary!"

"The Guruv Yoga studio is a beautiful, peaceful space alive with the energy of yoga as it was meant to be practiced. No cattle-call settings of the local big-name fitness centers, the atmosphere is intimate and spiritually uplifting. The staff are highly trained and welcome practitioners of all levels. I was very happily surprised that the classes were adaptable for a "newbie" like me as well as seasoned yoga enthusiasts."
